The “Art” of Giving
Here’s a wonderful philanthropic team building program that enables your group to create beautiful multi-panel murals for placement in local childrens’ hospitals, nursing homes, family shelters, etc. It’s an opportunity to foster important team building skills among your own employees, while brightening the lives of others in your own community. We manage to instill a great sense of accomplishment while making the final artwork itself pretty much foolproof (this in itself is something of an art).
We have created a series of graphics specifically to look great on six- or eight-panel murals. Each framed canvas panel measures 24” square. Once completed, these designs never fail to bring smiles to every face in the room. Your group can choose from a variety of nature-inspired scenes. You may also want to assign one team a teamwork-themed mural for your own workplace. Or let us custom-design something using your company logo.
Once teams and images are selected, we project outlines onto a wall. Teams trace the outlines, then paint them, checking with other teams to insure good alignment. Next, they choose a color scheme, another step that encourages cooperation between groups. Naturally, we provide all materials and are happy to help with any and all steps of the process.
While completed panels dry, all team members participate in a series of fun and exciting team builder challenges. Don’t let the laughter fool you – the powerful skills and tools learned here will go a long way toward increasing productivity and communication back at the office. At your request, we’ll try to arrange for a representative of the facility to accept your mural donation and thank your group.
When done right, corporate citizenship is a beautiful thing indeed.

Beehive Building
What if a corporate team building activity could stimulate employee teamwork while helping stimulate income generation for people in a developing country? Leave it to us to find a way…in this fun and competitive team building activity, your teams test their wits as they embark a wild and wacky scavenger hunt. We at teambonding are famous for our creative, hilarious corporate scavenger hunts, having raised this pursuit to something of an art form.
Afterward, everyone settles in to the construction of beehive frames. These are donated to an enterprising women’s cooperative in Mexicali, Mexico that has embraced beekeeping as a way to generate family income. Your participation makes it possible for these women to produce and sell beeswax candles, honey-flavored baked goods, healing salves, bee pollen, hand and facial creams and more.

At the end of the day, you succeed in raising morale, stimulating cooperation and boosting motivation, all while making a meaningful contribution to a community in need. This really is one event where everybody wins.
“I learned that one must never underestimate the act of giving, no matter how small and insignificant it may seem. Building 30 beehives seemed like such a minor contribution. However, my husband and I later met a local Jamaican who provided a guided tour of the island. We saw firsthand the poverty and how so many live. We shared our Citigroup’s beehive-building activity. Our guide was so touched by our generosity and idea of Citi’s activity while we were traveling and he hoped we understood the impact and kindness of our contribution. However little it may have seemed to us, it was an appreciated gift. We wished we could have had the materials to build 100 hives!”

Charity Bike Build – Together We Care
We all want to make a difference in this world. Here’s a team building activity that offers a rare opportunity to actually make a difference, with immediate, tangible results built into the process. In a recent event for 1,100 people in Phoenix, our client came up with the perfect slogan, “Together We Care!”.
Armed with wrenches and enthusiasm, your teams race to construct the ultimate human-powered, no-gasoline-needed rocket – children’s bicycles. Meanwhile, other teammates are navigating fun, innovative puzzles and challenges to earn enough “money” for purchasing that last crucial part needed to make their team’s bike the first off the line.
The final bell rings. You wheel your mechanical marvels to the presentation/start line. Everyone is poised to present their bike and accompanying TV commercial when a door at the end of the room bursts open. Suddenly, you see the excited faces of underserved children from your own community! Imagine the delight and surprise that fill the room when everybody learns these kids actually get to take your new bicycles home with them. For most of the children involved, typically ages 8-12, this will be their first bicycle!
This is an extraordinary way to infuse a conference with energy, create a feeling of immense good will and a sense of meaning larger than day-to-day work challenges. We partner with charities such as Boys and Girls Club and Bikes for Tykes. Or we’re happy to partner with a local charity of your choice.
In our typical style, we take care of all the logistics, making you look good while making the whole event simple and painless. Remember, keep this one a surprise for the participants – don’t spill the beans! The surprise value of the big finale cannot be overstated.

Many of the participants have young children, and it inspired them to do their best, knowing that the bikes they were building were going toward such a worthy cause. The Teambonding team was wonderful to work with and provided a very rewarding and entertaining evening for our group.
- Thank you for once again for providing a top notch event. We look forward to working with you again next year.”

Cooking for a Cause
Cooking for a Cause is an exhilarating team building experience that ends in a meaningful and worthwhile donation of food to people in need. The program includes food prepared and consumed by the participants during the event and a three-part donation to area food banks.
To help your group better comprehend the issues of hunger and homelessness in the US, the program begins with a brief quiz on the subject. Participants will work in teams to answer questions which the facilitators will review and then discuss as a group.
Coking for aCause has three components, with competitions and winners from each!
The Cooking Competition includes appetizers consumed by participants, as well as the hot food preparation that will be donated to a local soup kitchen. Teams will compete to see who prepares the “best” dish in the eyes of our culinary judges.
The Great PB & J Challenge involves teams working together to make and package up to 20 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches per team. After being bagged with other nutritional snacks, they will be ready to be distributed at a local soup kitchen or street food distribution program. Part of the challenge is that the participants will be making their own peanut butter from scratch!
Food Bag Donation has participants completing three challenges to earn the supplies needed to assemble a bag of household food items for area families. Teams will need to earn a reusable tote bag to put the food in, materials to decorate the bag, and the food to place in the bag. The teams will also write a personal letter that will accompany the food bag, which is given to a local family in need.
When possible, the staff from the benefiting organization will be on hand to receive the donations and convey thanks and appreciation from the organization. What a great way to build your team – and give back to the community!

Go GREEN Racing
The environment and global warming have become much-publicized topics over the last several years. Given this increased focus, TeamBonding has raced to create an activity that showcases the importance of recycling and energy conservation.
READY…SET…GOOOOOO GREEN!!! Within the two-hour activity, teams will be tasked with creating solar cars from kits provided, and also building cars from materials used and thrown away everyday by millions of Americans. The solar cars will be put to the test and judged for performance, while the recycled cars will be built for speed! The event concludes with a round robin drag race tournament to determine which car is the fastest! Teams are racing against the clock to complete both cars and take home the checkered flag. The real winning team, however, is unveiled after the competition.

Team Building partners with local schools to donate both the solar cars created during the event, as well as new solar car kits and a solar classroom curriculum to area students. These cars and new car kits will be used by the schools to further emphasize the importance of energy conservation and alternative methods of transportation as well as foster creativity and innovation within the classroom.

Habitat For Humanity
This innovative and exciting activity allows corporate groups to give back to Habitat for Humanity and its new home beneficiaries. This is for companies that cannot travel or do not have a full day to donate to Habitat to build a home. This task-oriented activity calls on teams to use financial management, time management, and skills analysis to complete their tasks and earn the most money, while simultaneously designing and constructing home décor items for new Habitat homeowners that will soon move into their first homes. These gifts will be the first housewarming gifts families will receive, and will go a long way toward turning a beneficiary’s new house into a home!

This is a fun, competitive team building activity, involving a series of team-oriented challenges that result in the construction of mailboxes and birdhouses for donation to Habitat for Humanity. Teams of 10 will arrive at their tables to find a picture (if available) and last name of a family that will be benefiting from a Habitat home in the coming year.
We are delighted to help support Habitat for Humanity with this innovative program and a cash donation per team. Your employee involvement also supports via a financial investment in its operations, ensuring that it can continue to provide homes to those in greatest need.

A personalized gift such as you are providing will be something our homeowners will cherish. It will remind them of the outpouring of support and concern from people all over the country as we rebuild our communities and our lives.”

Operation Military Care
Operation Military Care is an impactful program that will put your group through an engaging, team-building activity leading up to the final challenge – the care package assembly for our military heroes!
It all begins with the entire group broken up into sub-teams and placed in different starting locations. From the start, these teams are required to gather items and materials that will comprise the care packages. These items are spread over a large area. Travel is difficult as the team must use “stepping stones” (walking pads) during the journey. From competition to collaboration, teams realize that only a shared, concerted effort will allow the project task to be completed on time.
You’ll be amazed at how energizing and uplifting this event can be for everyone involved, and what your team can accomplish back at work after an event that pulls everyone together for such a rewarding cause. We offer an optional post-activity facilitated discussion, which of course can be customized to underscore your event theme, company positioning, etc. This is one project that will be talked about for months in the workplace!

*“On behalf of the soldiers of Jolly Roger, I would like to thank you for the support you have provided to our deployed Platoon in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Your packages full of essentials go a long way to keep our moral high, stomachs full, and body’s healthy. To have people we don’t know express appreciation by taking the time to send us a package and a note means a lot to us.”

Team Teddy Rescue Bear
This is the original teddy bear team building event! Each team has puzzles to solve, codes to decipher, and secrets to unlock in order to acquire the resources that they need (part by part) to build a series of custom teddy bears.
Team Teddy Bear is a unique way to bring your own team together while providing priceless comfort to children who experience a car accident, house fire or injury. More than 11 million children are transported for medical care each year. A Rescue Bear given by a police officer or firefighter can be a powerful way to help ease pain and worries, calming a child significantly at a potentially frightening time.
Participants divide into small work teams. Each group must complete a series of games/challenges to earn team points. For the final thirty minutes or so, teams use their accumulated points to “purchase” all parts and accessories necessary to build a high-quality Rescue Bears. Teams choose shoes, clothing and props to add life and personality to their furry new creations. Even the bear assembly itself is served up as friendly competition, with groups racing to complete yet another novel but highly engaging task. Each group also makes a cape, handbag, or some other piece of clothing, which will be personally signed by each team member.
Once the bears are completed, they are presented to your local police or fire department. To maximize the event’s positive emotional impact, you can even arrange for a fire truck and/or police car to show up. The stories these local heroes tell can really bring your newly created bears to life.
Participants in this fun, challenging program exercise critical thinking and problem solving skills while taking part in a wonderfully altruistic event. For everyone involved, the benefits are truly priceless.
