The Great Appetizer Challenge

If you are looking for an event that is similar to our other great culinary programs, but a bit shorter in duration, we’ll love our Great Appetizer Challenge. Your group will tour the world by preparing hors d’oeuvres from every corner of the globe.

As with all our culinary events, there will be many challenges to meet along the way that will require a high level of communication and collaboration to successfully complete your tasks. Through the use of food preparation, your team will realize their high potentials and understand themselves better collectively as a team.

The group is divided into teams. Each team is challenged to create appetizers that look great and taste even great (no pigs in a blanket here). We provide all of the necessary ingredients, utensils, and recipes.

Once completed, all of the tempting creations will be showcased on a Grand Buffet for all participants to share and enjoy. In the events finale, the judges will select a champion based on taste, presentation, team work, and leadership.

Hot-Cha-Cha Chili Cook-Off

The searing flavors of this fiery festival guarantee that our Hot-Cha-Cha Chili Cook-Off brings the five-alarm fun. Does your team have a fire in the belly when it comes to their chili recipe? Think they can bring red-hot heat and be crowned chili champion? Then step on up, partners! Show off that chili machismo as you vie for succulent spicy success!

Teams will start out with the basic chili necessities (the meat and tomatoes, if you will). Ye Olde General Store is open for teams to purchase more ingredients. But teams had better leave their inner-bandito at home. The sheriff keeps a watchful eye and doesn’t take too kindly to sneak-thievin’. Teams can also negotiate with the hombres from other teams for those last minute needs. But no tusslin’. Sheriff’ll ride you right out of town for that.

If your chili recipe is definitely blue ribbon material bring it on! Us judges have certainly polished our belt-buckles around a few pots of Texas Red in the past. Shucks, even got some stuck in our cookie dusters. We know good chuck. So make sure your chili is a true hot tamale! The Hot-Cha-Cha Chili Cook-Off is both hot and chili con cool!

Negotiation, team building skills and good communication – not to mention singing ability – are all essential ingredients for success in this fun and engaging program.

Wicked Good Chowda Cook Off

Attention chowder aficionados: you’re in for a seriously enjoyable team experience. Yes, it’s another incomparable, competitive teambuilding cooking event! This time, get ready for chowder: fish, clam, or corn. We will bring all the groceries you need for a taste-filled team building event. Working in happy, hilarious teamwork, participants turn cartons of cream, butter, onions, corn, potatoes, raw eggs, fish or clams into cauldrons of prizeworthy chowder.

Forget about calories, fat and cholesterol! We’re creating chowderous works of art here, attempting to bring rapture to the lips of each and every judge…oh, did we mention there will be judges? This is, after all, a competition. What team will capture the highest accolades? Who gets the best marks for working as a team? Answer these questions and more as you give your group an uplifting break from the day-to-day grind.

Whether you’re from South Boston, East Boston, Dorchester, Roslindale, Medford, Cambridge or anywhere else on the planet, engage your inner Bostonian and get cooking!

Cooking for a Cause

Cooking for a Cause is an exhilarating team building experience that ends in a meaningful and worthwhile donation of food to people in need. The program includes food prepared and consumed by the participants during the event and a three-part donation to area food banks.

To help your group better comprehend the issues of hunger and homelessness in the US, the program begins with a brief quiz on the subject. Participants will work in teams to answer questions which the facilitators will review and then discuss as a group.

Coking for aCause has three components, with competitions and winners from each!

The Cooking Competition includes appetizers consumed by participants, as well as the hot food preparation that will be donated to a local soup kitchen. Teams will compete to see who prepares the “best” dish in the eyes of our culinary judges.

The Great PB & J Challenge involves teams working together to make and package up to 20 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches per team. After being bagged with other nutritional snacks, they will be ready to be distributed at a local soup kitchen or street food distribution program. Part of the challenge is that the participants will be making their own peanut butter from scratch!

Food Bag Donation has participants completing three challenges to earn the supplies needed to assemble a bag of household food items for area families. Teams will need to earn a reusable tote bag to put the food in, materials to decorate the bag, and the food to place in the bag. The teams will also write a personal letter that will accompany the food bag, which is given to a local family in need.

When possible, the staff from the benefiting organization will be on hand to receive the donations and convey thanks and appreciation from the organization. What a great way to build your team – and give back to the community!

Game Show Mania

Every night, millions of TV viewers play along with their favorite game shows. Buying a vowel. Blurting out answers. It’s as American as baseball and apple pie. So, for 50 points, what’s a great way to make your next meeting or party a hit? Let us bring you the fast-paced live action and Hollywood-style showmanship of Game Show Mania directly to you!

Game Show Mania includes a dynamic, engaging host who will bring you and your guests up as contestants in groups of four. Once you’re up on stage, it’s a fantasy come true as you participate in a real game show. You’ll have fun answering trivia questions, playing Name that tune, Remember This and more. Questions can come from our trivia library, or we can create a show custom-tailored to your event with questions and answers based around your organization or conference theme.

This is a sure-fire way to turn an average event into something big. teambonding emcees and facilitators are the best in the business, and lend an air of unmatched professionalism to your program. As with many of our programs, we offer an optional debrief focused on recognizing and leveraging team strengths.

Hooray for Hollywood!

Presenting a hilarious, highly customized murder mystery served with a Hollywood twist. The plot: famous director Rudy Von Hessel (actually a CharActor) arrives with his entourage of filmmaking talent. His leading lady, the gorgeous, talented and fully self-absorbed Angela Thorne, accompanies him. Von Hessel’s much married and harried producer, Barbara “Babs” Moneybaggs, spends all her time trying to keep Angela happy, but fails miserably. Rudy announces to your group that with the help of his talented staff, he’s ready to be holding auditions for roles in a film about your company.

Based on prearranged information about your organization and group, our CharActors will have the room howling with laughter as various people are called up to audition for the roles of fellow employees, or even to play themselves. The event takes a dark and mysterious turn as the cast of the film is announced –Babs makes a toast to their success, and suddenly dies! Yes, it seems someone has poisoned Babs Moneybaggs.

A detective (yet another CharActor) arrives armed with plenty of clues. But it’s going to take personalized info from your organization to really fill in all the pieces. You’ll scream (with laughter). You’ll cry (for help). Murder has never been this stylish – or this much fun.

Hooray For Hollywood is a great team building event over a lunch or dinner function, and makes for a killer party. You’ll never look at Angela from Customer Service the same way again…

In the Company of Killers

A truly custom murder mystery is the most unique corporate entertainment you’ll ever see. Which helps explain why this is our most popular mystery. Leave it to teambonding to combine comedy, mystery, music (a strolling musician) and audience participation into one exciting event completely for and about your company.

You and your guests begin by meeting four of the most outlandish and interesting characters you’ve ever seen. Motives pop up. Clues are discovered. Then, suddenly, a murder occurs! Now the fun really begins. Who committed this terrible crime? You’ll get to question suspects as you work to solve the crime, and even get questionable help of our comic detective along the way!

This mystery is custom-scripted for your company – a simple three-page questionnaire gives us all the ammunition we need to make your event a rousing success. It’s helpful to know what your guests are like. Who may want to be more “involved” in the show? What will make this an event to remember for everyone involved? It all adds up to a personalized event that’s entertaining, funny and exciting.

Just Desserts

The newest addition to our acclaimed culinary series encompasses all of the proven team building components of our popular lunch/dinner events, but concentrates on everyone’s favorite part of the meal – dessert! Just Desserts is the perfect choice for an after lunch or dinner program, or as a refreshing way to break up a day of meetings. Preparing and sharing these delicious treats offers a fabulous opportunity for bonding.

Your group is first divided into teams. The fun begins right away as each team comes up with a team name, plus a unique team cheer or rallying cry. This in itself can be quite hilarious, and helps set a tone of excitement and friendly competition for the rest of the event.

Next, each team is challenged to create desserts that look every bit as delicious as they taste. Every team prepares one or more mouthwatering treats worthy of a top French patisserie. Teambonding makes your job easy by providing all necessary ingredients, utensils and recipes. Rest assured, every dish will be made from scratch. No slice n’ bake here – your group deserves the best!

Once complete, all of the tempting creations will be showcased on a Grand Buffet. Everyone can now sample each creation. Then in come the judges. The day’s champions are chosen based on product taste and presentation, with points also awarded for the leadership and teamwork that went into each team’s effort. We can also customize additional judging categories to help underscore a conference or event theme, company goals, or anything else you’d like to emphasize.

A short debrief follows, giving teams the opportunity to share their team names and cheers, plus discuss what they’ve learned about working as a team. We find there are always important lessons that any group can implement immediately once they’re back in the workplace. How sweet it is!

The Progressive ‘Networking’ Dinner

Tired of boring business dinners? Would you like your group to meet each other in a fun, non-threatening way on the first night of a conference, or get to know each other better while enjoying a fabulous meal? The Progressive Dinner is just the recipe: a unique combination of fun, fine dining and team building.

Our “Cocktail Party” game starts the evening off right with a fun and energetic Ice Breaker for the entire group. Then, it’s fast-paced fun as you share a different table with different people for each course: appetizer, salad, main course and dessert. Each course features a table top game or exercise for everyone to do together. It’s all carefully designed to encourage team interaction and fun while improving team skills. Depending upon your group size, each participant will dine, laugh and play with over 40 new people!

The Progressive “Networking’ Dinner can be done in the restaurant of your choice (we can help you choose), a hotel banquet room, or even in different restaurants for each course. Our energetic and jovial emcee/facilitator leads all tabletop games and exercises, coordinates the changing of the tables and even works with the restaurant on the timing of the courses. Table hosts for each table are also available at an additional cost. A fabulous way to have fun, celebrate successes together or energize your next meeting, off-site or executive retreat.

Secret Agent Man

Imagine that behind your company’s carefully crafted facade, your team is actually a fabulous international network…of spies! One of your informants has learned that 007 himself, James Bond, is finally planning to retire into a well-deserved life of leisure. Q and Moneypenny are now actively engaged in the search for the next Bond.

Survey Says provides high-energy, wildly interactive team building. It’s invariably a unique learning experience for every participant. This event brings huge visual splash to your gathering, as all game show questions are displayed on a projection screen for everyone to see. It all begins when you organize your group into teams (families) of five to 10 contestants. Divide them up by departments, or any other way you like – we are happy to help with this if you choose. Working as a team, you get to prepare, enjoy and celebrate a serious multi-course gourmet meal. The idea here is to combine ingredients, dishes and styles of food from around the world onto one mouthwatering menu, to represent the diverse cultures, ethnic backgrounds and tastes of your participants. We focus on your group’s experience first, and then match the food to your specific event.

Team Cuisine is teambonding’s flagship team building experience. Through the use of food preparation, your team will experience itself realizing their high potentials and understand themselves better collectively as a team. This program makes an especially great choice for getting everyone on board quickly on the first day of a company conference, or as a celebratory event after a successful project completion.

Choose our Teflon Chef™ variation if you wish to add a competitive edge between teams. In this version, awards are given at the end of the experience to honor every team’s contribution to the final outcome.

Teflon Chef

Get ready for the food to start flying as your Teflon Chef teams face off against each other in a frenetic culinary battle of champions. You beforehand which Teflon Chef battleground to compete in – Italian, French, Mexican, Organic, seafood, beef, poultry or vegetarian. During the cook-off, chefs race to complete a definitive multi-course meal.

Test your cooking, negotiation, bartering, and buying skills by best utilizing the puny budget allotted you. Buy key ingredients or hire our consultant Teflon Chef (who won’t cook for you, but will be happy to help with your team process and get you going in the right direction). The competition is fun but fierce, and speed is critical.

To add to the drama, the Mystery Ingredient Du Jour must be prominently used in all of the dishes. This magic ingredient could be anything from king crab, ketchup, or lemon grass to lettuce or lobster. As you might imagine, the results can get a little crazy – around here, foie gras ice cream comes with the territory.

A distinguished group of discerning and hilariously outspoken judges determine who reigns victorious. But regardless of the outcome, you’re guaranteed one thing – nobody will go away hungry!

Winery Team Challenge

The Winery Team Challenge begins with a fun, informative Wine Tasting and ends with a highly entertaining and competitive Sangria Making & Marketing Challenge. Our sommelier starts the program with a brief history of wine, followed by a tasting that incorporates aroma sticks to help identify key ingredients in each wine.

Your group is then formed into teams that will become different wineries. Their assignment is to come up with a name and develop their own brand of Sangria. A brief history and definition of Sangria is explained, followed by a fun Trivia Contest which helps further educate your group about this wonderful beverage.

Each team then picks a leader and heads to the marketplace to find the ingredients they want to make their own Sangria. They will also create a name for their product, design a logo for their label and aprons – and decorate their tables for their final presentation which includes a song or jingle they write and perform about their great new Sangria.

Lastly, we organize a taste test contest to decide which team has created the best tasting Sangria. Prizes are then awarded in three different categories; the winner of the Sangria Trivia Contest, the team with the Best Marketing Campaign and the team with the Best Tasting Sangria.

The Winery Team Challenge is an extremely fun and fast-paced team building event that encourages creativity, cooperation, experimentation, and team support to come up with the best product and the most creative marketing campaign.
