The Great Appetizer Challenge
If you are looking for an event that is similar to our other great culinary programs, but a bit shorter in duration, we’ll love our Great Appetizer Challenge. Your group will tour the world by preparing hors d’oeuvres from every corner of the globe.
As with all our culinary events, there will be many challenges to meet along the way that will require a high level of communication and collaboration to successfully complete your tasks. Through the use of food preparation, your team will realize their high potentials and understand themselves better collectively as a team.
The group is divided into teams. Each team is challenged to create appetizers that look great and taste even great (no pigs in a blanket here). We provide all of the necessary ingredients, utensils, and recipes.
Once completed, all of the tempting creations will be showcased on a Grand Buffet for all participants to share and enjoy. In the events finale, the judges will select a champion based on taste, presentation, team work, and leadership.

*“We had a wonderful time! Facing a set of challenges that were very different than what we do 50-60 hours a week, we all learned different and surprising things about each other and I think everyone appreciated the new perspectives we now have on our colleagues. I think we’ll be a closer, better team for it. You were an excellent, low-key, firm, helpful leader with a great sense of humor. Thanks so much. Everyone wants to do it again – so we’ll be in touch!” L. S. – Public Broadcasting Systems

Hot-Cha-Cha Chili Cook-Off
The searing flavors of this fiery festival guarantee that our Hot-Cha-Cha Chili Cook-Off brings the five-alarm fun. Does your team have a fire in the belly when it comes to their chili recipe? Think they can bring red-hot heat and be crowned chili champion? Then step on up, partners! Show off that chili machismo as you vie for succulent spicy success!
Teams will start out with the basic chili necessities (the meat and tomatoes, if you will). Ye Olde General Store is open for teams to purchase more ingredients. But teams had better leave their inner-bandito at home. The sheriff keeps a watchful eye and doesn’t take too kindly to sneak-thievin’. Teams can also negotiate with the hombres from other teams for those last minute needs. But no tusslin’. Sheriff’ll ride you right out of town for that.
If your chili recipe is definitely blue ribbon material bring it on! Us judges have certainly polished our belt-buckles around a few pots of Texas Red in the past. Shucks, even got some stuck in our cookie dusters. We know good chuck. So make sure your chili is a true hot tamale! The Hot-Cha-Cha Chili Cook-Off is both hot and chili con cool!

Negotiation, team building skills and good communication – not to mention singing ability – are all essential ingredients for success in this fun and engaging program.

Chocolate Company Challenge
Your group will feel like kids in a candy store throughout this delicious team builder! Every activity is built around chocolate, that magical delicacy long known as “food of the gods.”
We get everybody started with the manic fun of Full Contact Chocolate Bingo. Once your teams are properly energized, tantalize their taste buds with our unique “Chocolate Taste Test” competition, serving up everything from familiar childhood favorites to exotic flavors like green tea chocolate. The next hilarious challenge, Towering Chocolate, sharpens problem solving and innovation skills as teams work to build the tallest possible freestanding chocolate tower. Our grand finale – a wild building event that involves everyone. Defy laws of physics and gravity as you help Wonka, Inc. build a Bridge Over Chocolate Waters.
Program emphasis can either be competitive (just for fun) or collaborative (big picture thinking) depending on your group’s goals. As with all teambonding programs, there’s lots of room for customization. Tasty options include You’re in the Game of Chocolate, a fast-paced trivia game played either seated at team tables or moving around a giant game board. We can also provide a working chocolate fountain, something that always goes over well. Prizes? Aprons sporting your company logo or Giant Hershey Bars? Just say the word.

The games that we played prior to the actual chocolate event were great because we got to get a little bit physical and we laughed A LOT!!! The chocolate events were wonderful, too – I think we all loved the competitive edge.
- I can’t say enough about what a great day it was. I was pleased with the outcome from the moment it was over, but I didn’t expect staff to be as excited and appreciative of it as they have been. I will definitely be doing this again!”

Cooking for a Cause
Cooking for a Cause is an exhilarating team building experience that ends in a meaningful and worthwhile donation of food to people in need. The program includes food prepared and consumed by the participants during the event and a three-part donation to area food banks.
To help your group better comprehend the issues of hunger and homelessness in the US, the program begins with a brief quiz on the subject. Participants will work in teams to answer questions which the facilitators will review and then discuss as a group.
Coking for aCause has three components, with competitions and winners from each!
The Cooking Competition includes appetizers consumed by participants, as well as the hot food preparation that will be donated to a local soup kitchen. Teams will compete to see who prepares the “best” dish in the eyes of our culinary judges.
The Great PB & J Challenge involves teams working together to make and package up to 20 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches per team. After being bagged with other nutritional snacks, they will be ready to be distributed at a local soup kitchen or street food distribution program. Part of the challenge is that the participants will be making their own peanut butter from scratch!
Food Bag Donation has participants completing three challenges to earn the supplies needed to assemble a bag of household food items for area families. Teams will need to earn a reusable tote bag to put the food in, materials to decorate the bag, and the food to place in the bag. The teams will also write a personal letter that will accompany the food bag, which is given to a local family in need.
When possible, the staff from the benefiting organization will be on hand to receive the donations and convey thanks and appreciation from the organization. What a great way to build your team – and give back to the community!

Ice Cream Making Challenge
Turning raw ingredients into sweet and delectable ice cream requires expertise, precision and creativity. It’s a fascinating process that will require all of your team and leadership skills to be put into action.
The Ice Cream Making Challenge combines the knowledge gained from various expert workshops with the unique experiential facilitation to produce an unforgettable and delicious team-building adventure.
The large group will be divided into competitive teams of 4 to 6 participants. Participants must leave their team to gain expertise in one specific ice cream making skill including recipe basics, waffle cone making, equipment instructions, and marketing fundamentals. Teams will then be challenged to bring together their new skills and develop a brand new ice cream flavor. Ice Sculpting
Let’s get this out of the way right up front: no, we don’t do ice sculpting with chain saws. We are known for stretching the boundaries of fun, but even we have our limits. What you do get is an interesting, out-of-the-ordinary team building experience that serves as a great…uh…icebreaker. Seriously, this is a cool thing most people have never done before, and everybody tends to really enjoy it.
So how does it work? Participants to split up into teams, their ultimate goal being to sculpt a big block of ice into a masterpiece, demonstrating just how powerful frozen water (and teamwork) can be. Once teams are assembled, everybody gets to watch an impressive demonstration by a genuine Mater Ice Sculptor. Your group will learn all about the tools and techniques required. Teams then get right to work. Each group is charged with the task of planning, designing, building, displaying and lighting their very own ice sculpture.
The results are fun, funny, and sometimes pretty impressive. As with all of our events, you get the famous teambonding touch – our facilitators are very good at engaging hearts and minds, and laughter is one of our secret weapons. For an additional fee, you can even have the Master Sculptor carve special sculptures like your company logo, a bust of the CEO, or whatever. Note: this event is surprisingly flexible and portable!

The newest addition to our acclaimed culinary series encompasses all of the proven team building components of our popular lunch/dinner events, but concentrates on everyone’s favorite part of the meal – dessert! Just Desserts is the perfect choice for an after lunch or dinner program, or as a refreshing way to break up a day of meetings. Preparing and sharing these delicious treats offers a fabulous opportunity for bonding.

Teambonding makes your job easy by providing all necessary ingredients, utensils and recipes. Rest assured, every dish will be made from scratch. No slice n’ bake here – your group deserves the best!
Once complete, all of the tempting creations will be showcased on a Grand Buffet. Everyone can now sample each creation. Then in come the judges. The day’s champions are chosen based on product taste and presentation, with points also awarded for the leadership and teamwork that went into each team’s effort. We can also customize additional judging categories to help underscore a conference or event theme, company goals, or anything else you’d like to emphasize.

Teflon Chef
Get ready for the food to start flying as your Teflon Chef teams face off against each other in a frenetic culinary battle of champions. You beforehand which Teflon Chef battleground to compete in – Italian, French, Mexican, Organic, seafood, beef, poultry or vegetarian. During the cook-off, chefs race to complete a definitive multi-course meal.
Test your cooking, negotiation, bartering, and buying skills by best utilizing the puny budget allotted you. Buy key ingredients or hire our consultant Teflon Chef (who won’t cook for you, but will be happy to help with your team process and get you going in the right direction). The competition is fun but fierce, and speed is critical.

Winery Team Challenge
The Winery Team Challenge begins with a fun, informative Wine Tasting and ends with a highly entertaining and competitive Sangria Making & Marketing Challenge. Our sommelier starts the program with a brief history of wine, followed by a tasting that incorporates aroma sticks to help identify key ingredients in each wine.
Your group is then formed into teams that will become different wineries. Their assignment is to come up with a name and develop their own brand of Sangria. A brief history and definition of Sangria is explained, followed by a fun Trivia Contest which helps further educate your group about this wonderful beverage.
Each team then picks a leader and heads to the marketplace to find the ingredients they want to make their own Sangria. They will also create a name for their product, design a logo for their label and aprons – and decorate their tables for their final presentation which includes a song or jingle they write and perform about their great new Sangria.
Lastly, we organize a taste test contest to decide which team has created the best tasting Sangria. Prizes are then awarded in three different categories; the winner of the Sangria Trivia Contest, the team with the Best Marketing Campaign and the team with the Best Tasting Sangria.
The Winery Team Challenge is an extremely fun and fast-paced team building event that encourages creativity, cooperation, experimentation, and team support to come up with the best product and the most creative marketing campaign.
